I'm convinced my (former) doctor is a whack job

I don't know if you all have heard of the HCG diet or not, 500 calories a day and you take some hormone found in pregnant women? I don't know I haven't read much about it, I just saw 500 calories a day and thought it was a crock - I lost 50 lbs on 1200 a day the healthy way... ANYWAYS, I just got a letter from my primary care physician/gyno stating she's quitting her practice to go into weight management full time, focusing on that particular diet.

I thought she was crazy before cause last year she was telling me to get on Medifast without noting how much I had dropped and asking what I had changed in my eating habits, but this is just a whole new ballgame. I'm kind of relieved that she's quitting this practice, which will force me to find a new doctor, cause otherwise I probably would have continued going on merit of my laziness to find a new person.

On that note, any good recommendations (preferably female) in the N Dallas to Plano areas?

I'm not so good with the advice... Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?

My Mom works with someone who has lost over 30 pounds on the HCG diet with no side effects.  She says she has to force herself to eat the 500 calories because it makes you not hungry.

Still though, I tend to agree, not a healthy way to do it.

Good luck on your search for a new doc!
