Getting in Shape

i can't stop eating!!

ahhhh!

today is the first day of my period (sorry if that's TMI) and I am simply insatiable! I have been trying to fill myself with fruits and veggies between my regular meals but damn am I hungry! And so unsatisfied! AND, to make matters worse, I am a nanny and this weekend the family had a HUGE joint birthday party for the kids so the house is filled with cake, ice cream, popsicles, cotton candy, regular candy, chips, hamburgers, hotdogs..... you name it!

... sorry, I just need to vent before I eat this entire house.
anyone else get ridiculously hungry during their time of the month?

I do.  It seems like a lot of people have been going through this lately.

Go chug a big glass of cold water, it might help a bit!

  • You go right ahead and indulge.  I believe you must give in occassionally in order to keep from feeling deprived.  I'm a total chocolate freak when it's that time of the month for me.  You should be able to give in without making yourself feel so guilty.  I'm actually eating chocolate right now!  Cool  Good luck and happy munching.  We can always exercise a little more, right?!!!!
  • Chew gum.  This happens to me all the time during TOM or when junk is around and calling my name.  Sometimes that act of chewing makes me feel better even though I'm not actually eating.  If you're genuinely hungry, then go ahead and eat, but if it's just the munchies-chew gum, drink water, even drink something flavored-iced tea or a diet soda if that's what it takes.

I feel the same . . . sometimes I brush my teeth so I know that nothing will taste good, hehe. Only do that after you eat though- I don't support bad eating habits. I feel your pain though. Gotta love PMS.

My favorite new snack . . . caramel rice cakes!!
  • brush your teeth
    do 10 pushups
look at a photo of your wedding dress
    chew gum
    drink green tea
eat another piece of fruit... or maybe something a bit more filling, like yogurt or a handful of nuts?  sometimes I feel like fruit only wakes up my appetite!

  • I know you're not supposed to drink a lot of it but coffee helps me. It gives me a full feeling to fend of feeling hungary for a little while. If I remember my physiology right, there's something in it have stimulates the hormone that makes you feel full. That was a long time ago though...

  • Coffee works well for me, but remember to drink water with that too, or else you will get the jitters.  Also, its never good to rely on coffee to satiate your cravings all the time, because you could get addicted.  Make sure you are using a whitening toothpaste if you are drinking coffee, and try to brush often to keep your teeth from yellowing.

Whenever I am hungry, I like to go for a run or walk or try to indulge myself some other way- like watching an episode of sex and the city or some other yummy tv show.  Watching other women be successful at being lean makes me want to be the same way.

    Good luck!
