Hi Ladies! This is my first post to the board .. but, I've been checking out the posts lately & I think that everyone here offers great tips & advice. I finally (after many unsuccessful attempts) found not only the inspiration, but also the motivation .. to get healthy. My short term goal is to drop some pounds, but longterm - I'm really looking forward to improving my overall health.
Right now, I eat very healthy - I do not count calories, it isn't something that works for me.. but I usually have a "rough" estimate in my head. I go to the gym 6 days a week for at least an hour - usually more on the weekends when I have more time. My current "goal" is to do 10 miles on the elliptical in 1 session - my timeline for that is July 3rd. (I respond well to mini goals like this..)
After I complete the 10 miles on the elliptical.. I want to become a runner. I've "ran" 5K's in the past - though, not in a way that you should be proud of! I plan to start slow.. eventually work up to a solid 5K.. then a 10K.... and, hopefully by May of next year - I want to run the half marathon! Any tips or advice on becoming a runner?
