Getting in Shape

Hey yoga people

I am a super-newbie with this; have never tried any sort of yoga before (though I have done a little pilates and I see a few slight similarities).

So, uh, here's my thing.  I can NOT do a lot of these poses.  Like standing splits? Half moon pose, Warrior III... there's just no way.  Is that bad? This dude in the video isn't saying things like, "Don't worry if you can't do this quite yet, you'll get there" or anything, he just seems to think everyone can do these.

Am I flawed?
