Getting in Shape

Weight Loss Body Wrap

Has anyone done one before? I've run across a couple deals for them, like on Living Social-type sites. They're supposed to take around an hour and they say they're good for your skin. The main goal is the weight loss though; they supposedly get the cellulite cells moving so they dissipate a little, and you're supposed to lose up to an inch around the waist.

Sounds a little too good to be true! Comments?

  • It is too good to be true. You lose weight (and definitely inches) temporarily in the beginning because you sweat out a lot of water weight. Over a few days/weeks, this all comes back.

Yeah, that won't happen.  They're just praying on the quick-fix nature of people.  As the pp said, you'll lose some pounds at first, but it will just be water, and will come back once you're normally hydrated again.  My mom did one before my wedding and while she said it was very relaxing, it didn't do anything to make her dress any looser.

Healthy, sustainable weightloss occurs as a result of eating fewer calories than you burn in a day.  To lose a pound a week you need to cut back by 500 calories a day.  A good way to do that is to reduce your food intake by 250 calories and burn another 250 through exercise.  If you want to learn more about the right way to shed some weight, stick around!
