Hi!
I've never posted on this board, but lurk every so often and feel you girls give really great advice and know tons. So here goes...
I have been working out and eating pretty healthy since the New Year and I've lost around 12 lbs. I lost the majority of that in January. I upped my workouts (I take kettleballs 2x/week, spinning 1x/week, and do my own workout of eliptical and weights another 1-2x/week) the last week of February. I did not (stupid, I know) do my measurements when I started. My weight has pretty much stayed the same since the end of Feb/beginning of March. I lost 3 lbs in one week where I didn't work out hardly at all due to ice and snow.
So, I have always wanted to know this and am tired of wondering, so I guess my question is this...
I know a lb. is a lb., so a lb. of muscle is the same as a lb. of fat, even though muscle can take up less room on the body. But, I'm wondering if I'm building muscle, so therefore, in a way, gaining weight or maintaining weight? And maybe not losing as much weight if I just did dieting alone. I love to work out so I wouldn't be doing this, just wondering. Does this make sense? I know my body is changing due to the way my clothes are fitting and I know my legs feel firmer, but I'm just wondering when my weight will start decreasing. Any help or advice is appreciated. Thanks!!
