What do you do when you are in the mood for somthing sweet but want to stay healthy?

  • Fudgsicals, no sugar added... or instant sugar free fat free cheesecake jello pudding, with sliced strawberries stirred in.
  • I usually brush my teeth when I am craving anything that I shouldn't be eating. I've found the longer I go without sweets, the less I crave them. I do reward myself about once a week with a dark chocolate candy bar, But something about brushing my teeth makes the cravings go away.

  • One square of a really yummy candy bar is what my trainer suggests. I love blueberries and grab a few when I am craving some sweets or I drink some water and it usually quelches it.

  • I don't personally really have cravings for sweets, but I usually will eat some fruit when I want something sweeter.

    I've also heard it suggested to get a 85% cacao chocolate bar and eat a small piece, like 1oz. of it whenever you're having a craving.

    Otherwise I would maybe try like a pp mentioned, and have one of those new jello mousse cups - those looked yummy at the store :)
  • Drink a glass of water and see if your still craving, and if you are, eat  an apple which naturally curbs the craving or celery which is a negative calorie snack :)
  • I eat a lot of fruit and don't eat other sweets most of the time. I'm the type that would rather eat a pizza...or a lobster for that matter...
    Also, I refuse to eat cheap, poorly made baked goods. So, if I really am craving chocolate/baked goods, I go to a nice Italian bakery and get a mini cannoli or tiramisu. It also makes you realize how gross the grocery store type bakes goods are.

  • Mmmmm, lobster.....

    If I want a chocolate type sweet thing, I'll have a bit of dark chocolate.  For other sweets, I'll just chew a piece of gum, or have a small bit of what I want.  If you can incorporate it into your daily calories, you should by all means indulge now and then.

    If I want something like ice ream, Beyers Strawberry yogurt works for me. If I am craving chocolate I will just eat it, BUT I also make sure that I eat alot of vegetables for dinner.
