Hey everyone!
My name is Tara and I'm an 8th grade English and History teacher in Illinois. I got engaged at Christmastime, and am getting married June 2012. I am hoping to be at my goal weight my this coming summer, so I can buy my dress and have a whole year's worth of motivation to keep the weight OFF.
Background:
I began my weight loss journey in June 2010 at 222 pounds. I have lost 57 pounds and 4 dress sizes (size 18 to size 10!) to date. My goal is to have lost a total of 75 pounds and to read my goal weight of 147 pounds. Last fall, I completed the Couch to 5K program. I kept up with running until it got too cold to run outside, then I bought an elliptical and have been doing my cardio in my basement at home. I am SO ready for it to get nice outside again so I can get back to running. I miss it.
I also use SparkPeople to track my calories and eat between 1200 and 1550 calories per day. Eating lots of fruits and veggies has really helped me head towards my goal.
Now:
I have found that these last 10 pounds have been very slow to come off. It's take me about 3 months to get off 10 pounds, which feels very discouraging. I know I'm not in a full on plateau but I just don't know what I can do to vamp it up. I feel like I am SO close to my goals, but the slow progress is very discouraging.
Any tips on how to ramp up my game as I near my goal?
