Getting in Shape

Body Wraps for weight loss?

I have heard of these wraps for years but I'm seriously going to give it a try.

Has anyone had one?

I've read several articles that say you must research the products to make sure you're not allergic. Also some methods only dehydrate you and that is why you lose 6 to 10 inches of water weight.

I want to do the wraps that claim to expel toxins from your body. I'm not expecting a miracle but if this helps me tone up and lose a few inches I'd be happy.

Any thoughts?

  • Waste of time/money.
  • Definitely a waste of your time and money. By "tone up" I assume you mean look a little more muscular - there's no way that's happening from a wrap. And you will lose some inches in the beginning, but it will all be water, and will come right back.

Think of it this way: if getting thin and "toned" was as simple as getting a wrap for a few hours, we would all be our ideal body size.

Have either of you tried it personally and speaking from experience? thanks.

  • I had a body wrap last year and it definitely makes your stomach flat but only for about a week!  So I would reccommend it if you were looking maybe to get rid of a few inches for your wedidng day to look extra good :) Or even for your honeymoon so you can look fantastic in your bikini! So yeah its not a permanant thing but if you need a quick tummy fix for a few days then I would go for it.

Ditto all of this, and awro.

My mom did one before my wedding because her dress was a big snug and the only thing she got out of it was a relaxing hour at the spa.

You don't need to "detox" and wrapping yourself in seaweed certainly won't do it.  If you're worried about "toxins" start eliminating overly processed foods from your diet.  To get a healthy glow drink more water and exercise regularly.
