Getting in Shape

Dr. Ian's Fat Smash anyone?..

Someone replied in a post about Dr. Ian's Fat Smash so I've decided to try it after looking it over.

Is there anyone else on here doing it that has any tips or recipes? I'm on day 1 of phase 1.

If you have done this before, what kind of results did you get after 6 weeks? I am good with maintaining my weight and in general have healthy habits. I am just having a difficult time losing now that I've graduated college in May and have a desk job. So, now I don't get to move as much as I did thus the difficulty with weight loss.

Thanks!

  • I tried it and lost 7lbs in the first 10 days and anoher 3 the following week.  The thing is I never made it to 6 weeks.  I find it very restrictive and it makes it very difficult for you to be social as well.  I gained the 10lbs lost back not long after.  Now I'm on weightwatchers.  I have a friend who also tried Fat Smash, she dropped 20lbs in 6 weeks.  She did it right before a vacation and gained it all back within a year.  So it will get you fast results, but because it is so strict you may find it difficult to stick with.  Keep in mind the diet also requires daily exercise.  My schedule just isn't suited for working out 7 days a week.

There are a few websites that  have a lot of recipes that meet the criteria for fat smash, you can google them and find them for sure.

  • I had a similar experience as Ty. FI and I both did Fat Smash a few years ago. We both lost weight pretty quickly. But we were also pretty miserable because the diet is soooo restrictive. Each phase adds on new foods and I ended up completely overindulging because I missed those foods so much! I gained all the weight back and then some. We found recipes online, but we still ended up eating the same things over and over. I wouldn't suggest this diet honestly.

  • Hm. OK thanks guys! I'll definitely reconsider.

I'm already finding it difficult to deal with planning and such. I generally have semi-healthy things I can whip up at the house but it's way more challenging with this. Especially since I have a one hour commute to & from work.

  • The weight won't come off as quickly, but weightwatchers could be a good alternative for you.  Its not as restrictive.  I do it online.
