Getting in Shape

Tuesday New Member

*waves hello*

I'm starting a full and happy life with my fiance. To do this, I need to be in shape! I refuse to let the number on the scale concern me, but I have health problems that require I be in shape. For the past 4 years, I've been really lax about this, and I've paid for it. So, I am getting back in shape. I've joined a taekwondo school which I go to 2-3 times a week (well, at least once a week). My probem is those other days.

I really need to focus on my lower abs. I *loathe* running with a burning passion, but I know it would be the best thing for me.

Did anyone manage to sucessfully move from absolutely hating running to enjoying it?

Alternatively, your favorite lower ab workouts would be lovely.

  • Hi there!

    *waves back!*

I've recently just rejoined the gym after a (very) long hiatus!! I too am not a big fan of running, I prefer power walking or biking. Sometimes I think it's really better to stick with what you like and then you are more inclined to stay with it.

I try and do running on the treadmill, but I break it up with walking - so I do short bursts of running. That's working for me.

Is the running for your lower abs? If so, there are probably other exercises you can incorporate to work on them and so you're not just stuck with running, which will suck more because you don;t like it!

    Good luck!
