Getting in Shape

reality check

i came across the link to this story just now on msn.com -- apparently the "best" obesity rates by state in the u.s. is something to the tune of 19%, in colorado.

that means that even though colorado is the "fittest" state, almost 20% (or 1 in 5) people there are still obese. that's not exactly an accomplishment for the people of colorado or any of us. *sigh*

  • I know... so sad.  I've heard, maybe urban legend but sounds believable, that they are starting to paint parking spot lines bigger to accomodate Americans large asses getting out of their cars :-(

  • It doesn't surprise me that Colorado is the lowest. Half of the people I work with do Marathons.
But yes, you're right....it is depressing...but how do you fix it if it's gotten this bad? How do you convince someone to change their life?
