Getting in Shape

ugh, cellulite

So this is where I usually get discouraged.  No matter how healthy I eat and how much I work out, I NEVER want to show my thighs because of my cellulite!

For any of you in the same boat, have you seen some sort of reduction or is it less noticeable after seriously toning your thighs??  I know it never really goes away, but I at least want to disguise it enough to feel confident on our honeymoon and in general.  :(

  • I noticed mine gets worse when I don't work out. So even if I can't run, I try and do squats/lunges. I also use Jergens gentile glow moisturizer which can help a little, I think it makes it look less dented? I'm not sure if that's the right word.
And don't worry about it too much. Every single woman has cellulite, even skinny women.

  • I get cellulite on the fronts of my thighs, and just below my bum where it meets my leg. I have noticed that since I've been doing a lot more weight training, the cellulite is far less noticeable. Lunges, lunges, lunges LOL. I even do lunges while watching True Blood. I'll do a set of 15-20, rest for a minute, then do more until I feel like I gave 'em a good workout.

I've heard speculation that massage helps with cellulite problems, but this could be and urban legend. I think it was in the August issue of Glamour magazine, they said that if you spend some time massaging your problem areas in the shower, then it helps to break up the cellulite. It's worth a shot, but I wouldn't guarantee it, since your body is different than everyone else's.

  • Cellulite is just part of being a woman. It sucks though, I know! I use the sunless tanning lotion - tans are good for masking imperfections. And of course the more muscle you have, the less cellulite you will have. But dont aim for ZERO cellulite...that pretty much only happens for models that have been airbrushed
