Getting in Shape

P90X failures...?

I started my official Day 1 of P90X last Thursday.  I have attempted the workouts without fail, but I have to take major breaks from all of them (end up missing lots of the exercises) and can't finish even one disc all the way through.  I have never been an exerciser and am trying to get myself jumpstarted, but I'm feeling like maybe this is too ambitious?

So, here's the question: does the fact that I can't finish any of the discs without taking breaks mean that I shouldn't be doing this right now? Or should I just keep going with it and build up to where I can finish them?  Would it be better to put off doing these until I have more of a base from other workouts (maybe the 30 day shred?) and then try? 

I should add that they are not mine; I am borrowing them from my FSIL, so I can't keep them forever, and I do want to be in great shape by June (going to Vegas, haha).  So, I think that's all the info needed.  Sorry to write an essay; I have a rambling problem when I'm online. TIA!
