Getting in Shape

*Really Really need a push!*

Hi!

I am getting married in a little less than 6 months (12-11-10) & even though we unexpectedly moved the date wayyy up from when it was supposed to be, which was summer '11, I'm  finding it hard to get to the gym or even get moving! I always read articles online and in magazines about little ways to make changes, or get started, etc... but for some reason it's not sticking. At least I should have a little more time now that my school year is over (I'm a teacher) although I do work a summer job. I love my wedding dress but I want my arms to look spectacular, they're getting flabby lol. I really want to get fit again, and have my best body for our honeymoon and a year or two of marriage before we have kids.

About me:
I am 25, 4'11", and weigh 116 lbs. I know I'm not overweight but I do weigh more than I ever have and I am gaining fat around my belly and thighs, arms are getting flabby, and I feel like I'm starting to lose my butt lol. Mostly I would like to lose 8-12 pounds and TONE especially my arms and butt. I don't eat that healthily but I do like fruits, vegetables, etc, not a picky eater.

Help! Motivation techniques, excercise tips, especially tips for making over an average lifestyle into a healthy one! I want to keep the weight off by eating healthy and being active.

Re: *Really Really need a push!*

  • my advice is to start of gradually, like palnning to go to the gym 3 times a week at first, then gradually increase. cardio & weight trainig ( less weight more reps fro tonning). Maybe try a few aerobic or excercise classes so you dont have to do it alone. I persoanlly love workign otu w/ someone it just makes the time pass for me. Start slow is the biggest thing dont try to do evrything at once make the adjustments gradually. Like switch out your regular white flour pasta to whole wheat pasta.
  • Try Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred dvd. It's only 20 minutes and it gets fast results.

If you're up for something more, I'd honestly suggest a program like P90X. It's pretty intense, but since you're not too overweight, you'd increase your strength and trim your flabby parts. It's a big time committment, but it will get your results.
