Getting in Shape

1st day of P90X

So, yesterday was my first day of doing P90X. Man o Man, is that a workout or what? I can see why people say it works! :) I love it! We will see if I am still saying that after tonights workout! lol

Is there anyone else out there who is just starting out? I'd love to have a 'workout buddy'. Someone for me to help motivate and for them to help motivate me!

Or is there an P90X 'graduates' that have any pointers? I am ALL ears! lol

    I'm super excited, and want to get started asap :)

    I'm not sure if I should start on a random day of the week, or if I should start on a Monday?  lol...I suppose it doesn't really matter

  • I just started for the second time yesterday (I did a bit over a month the first time before a handful of things got in the way). What I do is alternate the weeks of lean and the classic plan. This is so I can have some of each exercise, especially plyometrics. I do week 1 lean, week 2 classic, week 3 lean and then week 4 recovery classic.

  • My fiance and I started this program four and half and weeks ago and did all the workouts.  We were so sore the first week, we could hardly move.  But we've trudged thru and are working on week five and I have to say that we are both impressed with the results so far.  We haven't followed their diet plan but kinda made our own to make sure we are eating just enough calories to lose weight but enough protein to build muscle.  My butt has gone from saggy to round and keeps getting better and better looking every week.  This the first time I have found an excercise program that did that and this is after years of off and on again doing squats, lunges and presses.  Keep with the program and watch what you're eating and you'll be amazed with the results.  It will hurt and it's not an easy program but after it's done you'll be proud of your success.
  • yes, i am also doing the p90x it is a hard workout, i normally do that workout, then this hip hop workout, it's alot of fun!!
  • Yay! I'm so glad everyone else is doing it too! I love it. But my body is hating it today! It was my 2nd time last night and I HURT! lol But it's a good hurt!

    My Fiance is the one who showed me infomercial and from there I WANTED it lol! He hasn't started it with me though :(   But like all guys, he could probably do 2 days of it and lose 20 pounds!

    I'm doing the Lean right now, I figured for my 2nd go around I will do the Classic! I never thought of alternanting! That's a good idea!

    Best of luck to everyone and lets keep eachother motivated! Alot of people I have talked to say they or someone they know has started it and not finished it! I don't want to be one of those people! :)
  • I feel a bit bad, I got 60 days in and had to stop. No time and my summer job is exhausting (Camp Director). I will start back in September. It does work, and you will keep most of the muscle
    However, a friend who finished the program gave some advice. Think about your schedule, and pick your rest day that way. Or find the work out you don't like (for me P90X yoga [he just wont be quiet and let me hold tree]) and match it up to a class you can take. I take an advanced yoga class on Saturdays, so I will start back up on a Wed.
