Getting in Shape

any tips?

ok, I started eating healthier again today. I have 20lbs I want to shed by Christmas (so my body can recover from the weight loss way before I get married!) I lost 50lbs a couple years ago and put 10 back on in the last 1.5 years. Now, I need to tone up... so, Other than that px90 or whatever it is that I did once and couldn't move for a week, does anyone have a good ab workout? Also, good ways to tone flabby arms and things?

Re: any tips?

  • congrats on getting back into it! it can be frustrating, but it looks like you're doing well with maintaining your big loss. my suggestion? cardio. yes you will definitely need some moves for toning, but you won't lose flab anywhere or tighten anything up without burning some fat. i recommend www.womenshealthmag.com, www.fitness.com, and www.shape.com for workout moves and routines. don't be afraid to work on your legs as well - the more muscle groups you incorporate into your workout, the better your results will be! good luck and keep us posted :]

  • Congrats for taking the steps again to try to create a healthy environment for yourself :)

I just did something called deep lunges.

Something like this, with weights. Start off with no weights in each hand, so that you can get the form correct.

the back leg however should try to get as close to the ground like in this picture.

I did 10 times each leg to complete one rep.  I did 3 reps.  You definitely feel it the next day :)
