Ideal Protein Diet Followers?

Morning!

My best friend and I came across some articles about the Ideal Protein Diet
The claim is that it is a pancreatic cleanse that will clean the body of toxins while increasing the fat burning capabilites of the muscles.

You eat their packaged food for 2 meals and 1 snack plus take vitamins. It is a packaged food version of Herbal Magic.

You follow the strict no carb, sugar portion of the diet for the forst 80-90% of the weightloss then begin to reintroduce good carbs for the last 10-20% then after you are in maintenace and can return to regulat meals (non pre packaged)

I would love if there are peeps out there who have been on the diet or know someone really well who was/ is on the diet. What was it like, how long to your goal weight?

  • Diets don't work.  Period.  Full stop.  End of story. 

    If you want to lose weight for good you need to learn how to correct the actions that caused you to gain weight in the first place.  Namely eating too much, eating too much crap food and not exercising enough.

    If you don't correct you bad food habits, like kayak said, as soon as you start eating normal food again the weight will come back.

    A free site like MyPlate (through Livestrong.com) or SparkPeople can help you figure out what a healthy range of calories is for your weightloss goals.  If you follow that, you will lose weight.

    23 pounds lost in 4 weeks!  Its balanced and gets you in fat buring quickly with out some of the wierd feelings I experienced with "high protein" or "low carb"
    Great program and if you follow it for a lifestyle change you will never put the way back on, I ordered the book and have been reading it while loosing weight and I am just so pleased it is easy and teaching me all the healthy habits I need to stick with it! Exercise is the last part of the program, since it is the least effective way of loosing weight but I look forward to it to help me tone up and look great in my wedding dress!

  • Your kidneys get rid of toxins. 

    Like millynissy said, your brain functions on carbs.  Getting rid of carbs entirely is NOT healthy.
