Getting in Shape

baby weight and getting in shape.

I'm having a baby in Feb. and getting married in June. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I would be able to get fit fast or on choosing a dress that would best suit a mother right after birth?

Re: baby weight and getting in shape.

  • I would definitely choose a dress that will be more forgiving for your mid section, like an empire waistline. Also, have a plan for as soon as you have the baby to get back in shape- go to the gym or work out at home as often as you can, talk to your Dr about calorie requirements if you are breastfeeding and track your calorie intake. You can do it! Also, it will be easier if you keep fit while you are pregnant, just make sure your Dr is ok with it and they can give you some ideas. You should be able to walk at least even if you aren't used to working out.
  • I have a 9 month old baby at home and trying to lose the baby weight now. I would definetly suggest buying a dress that flatters your stomach also. I would also suggest making a reasonable workout routine. When you have your new baby youre going to want to spend as much time with him/her as possible & between planning a wedding and a new baby, youre exercise time will be limited. I would suggest buying a good workout DVD or buying a used workout machine to have in your house. FInding time to make trips to the gym will be hard (and you wont need a babysitter to workout if you do it at home!)
