Capella Court - food

Ok after looking and looking at venues, I think that we have decided on Capella Court for the reception.  But the only thing is that there is NO food tasting.   Has anyone had their wedding here or attended on here??  Was the food okay?  I'm just nervous to book it for sure without some feedback!  Thanks!!

    I booked at Cappella for July & noticed that too! We just went for our cake tasting & I am so not impressed. It's too late for us to do anything else though. Hopefully people won't notice if it's not too great! In the beginning I felt we made a mistake in booking there but things have seemed to turn for the better here lately so keeping my fingers crossed!

    Hmmm.. now you have me thinking..lol.      Was the cake dry or just not great tasting?   What went wrong that made you think it was a mistake in the beginning??

    My FI and I really liked the looks of Capella but decided against it as soon we found out there was no food tasting prior to the event, that was a major red flag for us. When you spend that much money, you should have an idea what you are getting, just like when you test drive a car...

    Too bad though because its a really nice looking venue.

    Well, I went to a wedding at the Alexander Mansion last year (I think they are run by the same people).....

    The food was edible, but not at all what I would consider good.  I'm not really sure how to describe it, actually.   It didn't taste bad, it just was more like school cafeteria quality.  

    They did have the most impressive fruit/cheese display I've ever seen though.  Their Bride's cake was just okay, but the grooms (chocolate truffle, I asked) was great.

    Thanks ladies for all your feedback....

    The no food tasting thing is bothering me so much I think we may just pass this one up.   It's a shame its so pretty inside!!!
