Getting in Shape

:(

So I'm having trouble getting motivated to loose weight, just to move. I feel like I am trapped. No matter what I do I cant motivate myself. I dont know what to do. I already have a plan of what i want to do for working out i wanna take it slow but its been too long since i decided i wanted to loose weight and here we are 6 months later..Does anyone have any advice? I just feel like my life is moving so fast day to day and i just blinked and its already sat. Last i knew it was mon.. ugh i just need some one to talk to me.

Re: :(

  • I think ultimately the only one that can motivate you is yourself.  You can get inspiration from hearing about other peoples stories, but you have to decide you want to and stick to it.

Also, I think time will always fly by and there is never enough time in the day.  If losing weight and becoming healthy is something you really want, then you have to make it a priority.  Sometimes for me it seems like there areo many more important things to do, but what is really more important than your health?

I am not sure that this is what you wanted to hear, but I hope it helps!

I found myfitnesspal app on my phone helps keep me accountable every day and motivated. I always thought calorie counting would be annoying and time consuming but it's really not. It also helps that when I want to eat something bad I know exactly how much excercise I need to do to "afford it.". When I was blindly guessing I never lost anything. It may sound silly but I feel a little proud of myself every day tracking my progress.

i realized that if i didn't buckle down and dedicate myself to getting in shape, i would be kicking myself forever. i do not want to look at my wedding photos and think "why didn't i just do it?" yeah, it's a pain sometimes, but definitely worth it. that's what worked for me, but you have to play around with your thoughts to see what's right for you. also, ditto to the myfitnesspal or sparkpeople. join a community, it keeps you accountable :)

Maybe you should try designating a specific time during the day that is your time to excersize. Set an alarm so when it goes off, you drop what you're currently doing, do you're 'workout plan', then once you're done, you can go back to whatever you were originally doing... so long as it wasn't stuffing food or chocolates in your mouth while watching TV!
  • Get your fiance involved.  Even if its just to go for a walk, that way you are spending time with him instead of actually exercising.  Whenever I dont feel like working out,  I go for a walk with my FI, and its a great time to catch up on everything we havent talked about, it doesnt feel like exercise.  It does get easier to get motivated after you do it a couple of times.
