Spartan Race!

I am so excited!  A group of us (8 people total) are registering to do the 5K Spartan Race at the end of August.  I am glad that I will now have something to be working towards.  I have just been working out to get healthy, but didn't have any races or set goals to achieve.

The Spartan Race is similar to the Warrior Dash.  You ran a 5K through mud and obstacles.  I am not a runner, so this will be a challenge for me.  I hit the treadmill for the first time yesterday.  I ran a mile in about 10 mins without stopping to walk!  I know this isn't much, but for my first time I was really happy.  I then walked/ jogged the next mile. 

I am going to work on increasing my distance a little each run.  I am only going to run on Mondays and Saturdays.  I really like the workouts I have on my other days and don't want to stop them right now.

I will let share my time with you after the race.  I will also probably post some nice muddy pictures if you ladies want to see.
