  • I will hop on your train! I am already pretty anti-all of the above crap, but it will be nice to actually stop and check to make sure I am not eating it. I am also working on getting processed foods out of my diet. I was in Trader Joe's yesterday, and practically everything there has no preservatives and isnt very expensive. I know that they are a bit selective on where they build stores, but if you have one near you, check it out! They have THE BEST whole grain bread...it's very yummy!
  • I LOVE TRADER JOES. sadly, there is not one near me </3. I'm going to try to eat as much fish/protein as possible. if you want to use this thread as a sort of food-diary go ahead! I might later tonight. :)

  • I'll jump on the wagon with you!!! Actually, I am pretty good about it, but I do slip up sometmes. It's tough for a week or two, then it gets really easy. But then, you'll get invited to something where a cake is involved, or you're at someone's house for dinner, and they offer you something and you don't want to be rude and refuse...then it gets hard to say no.
At home it's easiest if your FI or H can help, and you can throw out all of the stuff that temps you!

  • We were just talking about this in my house yesterday.  I don't eat the white stuff...but my FI does.  He love potato bread and pasta etc.  He has been trying to get his Cholesterol in check. One of the doctors I work with gave me a paper on cholesterol and diet.  So here is some informtaion that might help motivate you more.  Research is showing that those same simple sugars increase triglycerides and decrease HDL ( good cholosterol) inthe body.  This happens more frequently in women because women are constantly trying to diet and eat " fat free" foods that actually substitute fat with sugar.  Keep that in mind as you cut out your simple sugars...it may make motivate you more.  Thats all.  Good luck.  It is definitely a life change but you can do it!
  • Ok I'm in..do we just post everyday if we succeeded or not?  Also anything that might be a simple carb but disguised as healthy?

  • I have pretty good HDL and LDL levels. BUT DAMMIT! I just ate some of a cookie </3 hahaha. sometimes I forget I'm trying to cut certain stuff out. its also easier for me to creep into something instead of BAM start a new way of eating right away. Here is a good list: http://howtothinkthin.com/instincts2.htm
