Getting in Shape

What is the best workout DVD?

I'm trying to lose 30-40 pounds and am looking for a DVD that is fun, but also DOable! I'm using Turbo Jam now, and like kickboxing and a more athletic workout. I think insanity might be too much for me? Any suggestions of things that have worked? Also, any good diet plans?

Re: What is the best workout DVD?

  • you need to scroll down the pages of the boards because this question is asked a lot.  but in case you can't find it,  30 day shred seems to be the most popular

  • p90x i think works! I am currently using personal trainig with Jackie. i am also trying to get back i shape for my wedding. I lost 13lbs by doing the lemon diet for a week and also changed my eating habbits more greens, less salt and sugar and less bread & dairy. Good luck!
  • As others have mentioned (in this post and previously) Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. I use it to supplement my cardio routine and am usually left exhausted afterwards!! Definitely give it a try, it's pretty cheap too, which is always a bonus :)
  • I have been using Insanity, and yes it is intense, but it's also all about pushing yourself. I like it, because there are so many dvds I don't get bored. Every time I do a fit test and see improvement, I get really excited :-) People keep calling me "tiny" (which has NEVER happened before. I HATED working out, but I can honestly say that Insanity is AMAZING. I have not done P90x because you need all the extra stuff and I was bored with 30 day shred, you just havfe to do something you will like :-) Good Luck!

  • The Jillian Michaels DVDs are great! 30 day shred is good if you are pressed for time (20 minutes)  and if you have more time Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism and No More Trouble Zones are awesome as well (40 minutes). P90X and Insanity are also great if you really want to push yourself (and spend the money).

As far as diet goes, eat real, unprocessed, whole foods. Don't cut out any food group or go on fad diets or cleanses. Count your calories and work out and you will see results.
