Spartacus workout (can be done at home)

Hi all,

After my marriage and indulging on the foods and wine I missed out on on my GIS journey, I'm back. I was a P90x'er and lost 25 lbs and about 10 inches.

My husband found this workout in Men's health and I did it last night. OMG. My legs and abs are still shaky - 18 hrs later. Just what I need! (seriously)

  • smorreau - is it harder than p90x? or about the same, challenge-wise? i'm a p90x drop-out haha and i'm a little intrigued by this! (and intimidated lol)

  • I would say that it's comparable. It's kind of like the plyometrics dvd because it gets your heart rate up and is strength training at the same time.

I have a couple of suggestions:

    1. Warm up! They don't include it in the workout pamphlets I've seen and it's essential. (As the day wears on, I'm getting more and more sore because I didn't warmup enough!)

    2. It's 3 rounds. Start off doing 1 round only and focus solely on form! For example, I instead of jump squats, I do them without jumping.

    3. Take photos of yourself in workout clothes today and every week. That'll keep you motivated.

I used to work with a body builder and he said that feeling soreness the day after a workout is a good thing. It means your muscles are working. Working out again (the next day) loosens it up.
