I found my dream dress! I saw a picture of it and stopped dead in my tracks. It was the closest thing I’ve ever felt to love at first sight.
Anyway, I found the nearest bridal shop that sells the dress.
Suffice to say the sample was too small for me to try on, so one of the bridal consultants modeled it for me. I wasn’t impressed with the way it looked on the hanger but once I saw her in it, I was floored! It’s truly a gorgeous dress. My mom was in love with it too.
The price is fantastic and well within my budget. The dress takes 8-10 months to make so if I want it, I would need to order it soon to have it in time to complete alterations.
I’ve lost a little over 25 pounds so far and I’m totally motivated to keep trying. The gown is a mermaid cut and comes in large sizes. I would call my figure boxy, as I don’t have a small waist (now) or the curvy, hour glass figure that would set the dress off. However, I’ve been told by some close friends/family about an undergarment that can do wonders in this area and give me the shape I’m looking for, in addition to my weight loss. FYI: I tried on one other dress just to get a feeling for the silhouette but the dress wasn’t a true mermaid so it wasn’t helpful.
So my question is, should I buy it now without ever having tried it on and have faith that it will work out? In other words, ‘do my best and let God do the rest!" Or keep looking, though trying on any dress will prove difficult given my size.
My mom and sisters and even my planner thinks I should go for it but I’m nervous.
