Wii Fit scale vs. Digital Scale

Both are on tile surfaces, but consistently there is a 8 lb+ difference. My digital scale will have weight variations of 2 lbs within seconds of measurements and the wii fit scale seems to be pretty consistent.

Should I just base measurements off of the wii fit and ignor my digital scale?

Re: Wii Fit scale vs. Digital Scale

  • Even tile surfaces aren't accurate.  If you have a spring-based digital scale, the springs could be giving out.  Consider how old your scale is - for both the springs and batteries.  If it isn't that old, then who knows!  I would always trust a real scale rather than one made by Nintendo...but go to the gym or doctor and see which one is right.  I would be curious to know!

  • Do you have any hand weights or anything that you know the weight of that you can use to sort of calibrate your scales?

  • The scale is four years old and I've never changed the batteries. So I think that could be a huge factor! I never thought that would be it b/c I just thought if they're dead they die? I'll try switching them out or maybe getting a new scale altogether.

Before I do though, I think I'll put my weights on there to test it. The scale won't read anything under 25 pounds so I'll have to get FI to put his 50 lb weight on there.

    Thanks guys!
