Getting in Shape

Hi Everyone!

I'm Kelly. I'm so excited to be here. I've been lurking for a few days, but wanted to introduce myself. This board is just what I need!

While I'm excited to lose weight for our weddings (we're having a ceremony and reception here in Ohio September 10th, and then a ceremony and reception in Liverpool, England on September 17th (where my fiance is from), I'm most excited because I know this is it! I had that OMG moment after seeing a picture of myself, and knew I couldn't beat myself down anymore. I have been my own worst critic, and I'm done. I deserve to be thin & healthy! I'm already happy... now I just need to add that missing piece!

I started Weight Watchers in 2001 and lost 72.5lbs. I'm 5'10" and went from 222.5lbs to 150lbs in a little over 9 months. I became a Weight Watchers leader, and absolutely loved it, but gave up the gig (and the program) in 2004, after giving birth to my twins. Two years later my surprise baby came along, and I never really got back on track.

I'm motivated in a different way now. I'm 31 years old, and I want to feel good about my body again! I want to be healthy, and set a lifelong example for my kids.

I started back to Weight Watchers in December, and then Dan asked me to marry him on Valentine's Day. Since then, I've kicked it into high-gear, and have lost 10lbs. I have 68.8 to go, and I know I won't have it all off for the wedding, but I'm okay with that. I have already made so much progress, and I have 5 months to get into the best shape of my life! I'm using every day I have to become a healthier, fitter me!

Along with Weight Watchers, I'm following My Fitness Pal, and love it! The Biggest Loser has also really inspired me, and I've been motivated by the show "Shedding for the Wedding". I have a weight-loss buddy, which helps a lot, and I'm working out regularly. At the moment, I'm using Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred, along with "Pilates for Dummies" and my elliptical machine. I also plan to Start Jillians "Yoga" this week. I like to spice it up, and not do the same routine every week, or even every day.

I'm very motivated... not only to look beautiful in my dress, but to feel beautiful for life. I have so many reasons to do this. It just took me a long time to realize I'm worth it.

  • I am new to the board today, too! At the start of this year I made the decision to start being healthier, working out and watching what I eat. I have been good so far, and dropped 12lbs! But, I know I can do better! :) This board is just what I need. Thanks for letting me join!
    I do Jillian's Yoga and 30 day, Fit Video and Billy Blanks' insane abs. I'm all about variety, too!
