Getting in Shape

weekends ruin it

Hi,

Every week I do well at counting calories and getting in workouts but the weekend hits and my will power goes out the window.  Does anyone have any tips for weekend temptations?

I'm the opposite. I can't seem to fit a workout in during the week because I already get up early as crap and get home late, and I'm always hungry and tired by then. Weekends are when I work out the most.

Don't buy junk food or keep it at your house, so when you're at home, you aren't tempted. I don't know what to tell you. PP's advice is pretty good.

  • The get out of the house thing doesn't work for me all the time. For example this weekend we were gone the whole time and I ate like crap.  So my advice when you are out, is carry healthy snacks and a bottle of water everywhere.  Think almonds, apple, etc...  for snacks.  Also, plan any meals out ahead of time.  Know where you are eating and what time you will be eating to help you plan.  Also, if you can see the menu in advance try to have something healthy in mind before you go there to help you make wise decisions.  I did not follow these rules this weekend and I filled up on a lot of bread, pasta, pizza, chocolate and fattening easter dinner today...I feel like crap in case you were curious :)

  • I don't have entirely too much help since  i have the same problem as you :(  but what i try to do is be good all week and stick to my calories and work out... and then plan to go a little "off" on the weekends... i know i'm going to have pizza on fridays... so i do it... but i don't go crazy... and rather than have a bad breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack and drink all day on sat/sun... i say i still need to eat good all day because i know sat night we are going out to dinner (or whatever it may be)... and then just do it, don't go crazy, and move on... i figure if i try to be too strict all the time, i'll never stick to anything... and i try to stay active... if it's nice out, we're outside walking somewhere or being productive around the house or whatever, so at least i'm burning some extra calories :)  and so far it seems to be going pretty well... i definately feel lighter in general, but i'm probably not losing as fast as i would be if i stuck to my guns 24/7...
