Getting in Shape

New to this board, hopeful about losing weight

Hi, I have been on the Knot for a while now but only on this board recently. I am joining Weight Watchers tonight and I hear it's great. I just wanted to say hi to everyone.

I would love to lose 30lbs and tone everything for the first time ever. I have been trying to lose weight for 2 years and managed to gain weight instead.

Re: New to this board, hopeful about losing weight

  • A lot of girls on here are in weight watchers and it works really well for them.  I think the key is to realize that this isn't a short fix, so find things you enjoy for both food and exercise.  If you force yourself into a routine you hate, you won't stick with it.

Good luck and keep us posted on your progress!

Thanks for replying. It's nice to have a board like this.
  • Hi blush!  i'm new to this board too.

2 weeks ago I started logging my meals on Sparkpeople.com to stay around 1500cals a day, and increased my treadmill usage by at least 30 minutes a day.  I got to change my ticker to 6 pounds lost today.  These ladies have a lot of good advice.  just ignore the idiots who think there is a miracle pill/cure for fat.

I only wish there was a magic pill for weight loss :)

Anna.Oskar, congrats on that weight loss! I hope to be on my way soon too. It's nice when you start to see the pounds coming off.

And i know it's silly, but you should get a weight loss ticker.  It's been a real positive influence to see my success every day in order to incourage me to continue on.
