Getting in Shape

So nervous for tomorrow.......

My dress came in about a week ago (cutting it close, i know!), and i am going in tomorrow to try it on for the first time and have my first fitting...... AHHHHH!!!!

Little background info...... i ordered the dress a size small back in November. Risky, I know. Stupid, I know. But I did it, because I am stubborn lol. Good news is, i've lost 23 lbs since then(woot woot!).

Measurements for the size 16 dress i ordered are bust 43 - waist 35- hips 45.5. My current measurements are 40-35-47 (so pissed i lost my boobs more that my butt......humpf). I am slightly scared about my hip measurement not being on target and the dress not fitting.... but it is an A-Line dress with a full skirt, so are the hip measurments that important?

ohhhhhhhhh the agony.... i wish i just order the size i was then i wouldnt be flippin my lid!!!!

its also a corset back, not sure if that matters haha... Heres the link to the dress: http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?style=R1066

  • Looks like that corset goes all the way down to the hips.  I'll bet you find that you are very happy you bought the size smaller!

Good luck I'm sure you will look great in the dress and have to have some of it taken in!

  • First off, the dress is beautiful! I'm sure it'll look amazing!!
  • They told me when I was looking at dresses for my bridesmaids that in an A-line skirt, the hip size is not important because it won't be "hugging" your hips.  If you  have a corset dress I think you will have nothing to worry about at all, I'm sure it will be stunning!

That dress is gorgeous!! Try not to worry too much - I did the same thing with a BM dress I ordered in January. Managed to lose the weight, but was still concerned because my hip measurment was still a little too big. Got the dress a few weeks ago, and it fit perfectly! It's got a similar top to your dress - coreset back fitted on the hips - and because of the corset it gives it wiggle room, so I'm sure you will be just fine! :)

Good luck, and congrats on the weight loss!
  • First of all, that dress is beyond gorgeous. Seriously. Second of all, like PPs said, with it being a corset back and A line, I'm sure you'll be fine. And third, congrats on the weight loss!

    I'm getting a Maggie too!

Since it's a corset, it will have some room be adjusted where you might not need alterations. I really, REALLY think you'll be fine. If anything, it's you're first fitting and they can let the hips out a bit.

The rest of your body is the right measurements to fit the dress, so I think you made the right choice in ordering the size you did.
  • thank you so much girls!!!! i guess we will all find out today at 4:00!!!!
