Getting in Shape

Sucked It Up & Got A Personal Trainer!!

Hooray!! I finally made the commitment, with 4 months and a few days till the wedding, I joined a new gym today with better group classes to fit my schedule and got a personal trainer twice a week.  Here's to hoping I get the results I'm looking for... My consult with her is tomorrow, very excited!!

Anyone else done the personal trainer route? Worth the money?

  • I decided to do this too...joined at the beginning of July and it is definitely worth it. I could never get into working out and the trainer teached you how to work out correctly and makes sure that you're doing them correctly. Mine has also helped motivate me and I actually enjoy going to the gym now. I've gone down a pant size already and can tell that I'm stronger and more lean than I was when I started. You'll like it (well, you may hate it at times like I do), but you'll love the results.
    GL and hang in there!

  • Very worth the money. I've been working out with mine since March. Unfortunately, I can't afford to renew and I only have a few sessions left!

  • Oh, also mine has given me a lot of advice/info on my diet so that has been a help too.

  • Absolutely worth every penny in my opinion!  I get so much more out of my trainer workouts. And so much more sore :)

  • Trainers are expensive but even if you can't afford to stick with one forever you will learn a lot of new stuff in a short amount of time. A trainer will definitely spark your motivation and weightloss. And you will have to be accountable to someone else which really helps also.
And when you do end up going off on your own to workout you will be much more knowledgeable than you were pre-trainer.
Let us know how it goes!  :)

  • Congrats!  I did the same thing before my wedding.  I had about 12 sessions total and went twice a week.  THe results were HUGE and better than what I could have done on my own.  I also learned a ton of new routines/exercises which now I do on my own.  Wish I could aford to keep going, but it is an expensive little luxury.
  • please keep us posted on your progress with a trainer. i would love to know how you are doing. i am sooo on the fence with spending money on a trainer but i am so unhappy with my weight. i keep thinking to myself, the money on a trainer could be spend so many other places for the wedding but trying on dresses have been a nightmare! the smallest i have been was a size 6 (4 years ago) now i am a 12-14 street size and trying on wedding dresses 14-18! YIKES! i just started WW and have been going back and forth about hiring a trainer. will i ever see a size 8 ever again Cry
