Getting in Shape

Just curious

Today for lunch I had something that wasn't the best for me. All day I've felt gross and sluggish. I've been eating pretty healthy for a while now and I didn't realize how bad fatty foods make me feel. A nice incentive to keep me on track! Has anyone else noticed how they feel when they don't eat so healthy?

Re: Just curious

  • I know, I feel disgusting... I'm really trying to cut out refined sugars, alcohol, caffeine and most processed food.  It's hard, but I feel so much better and my skin is glowing.  I slipped today and have felt gross all afternoon.  As you said, good incentive to stay on track!
  • Definitely. I cook most of our dinners and try to keep them on the healthy side (I've started making different sides for Fi and myself to help keep myself on track). The one night we had pizza from the local place and I didn't make it, I felt so tired and gross the next morning (and that was only from 2 slices!) I've also started noticing that I get really dehydrated on weekends when I'm not at work with my giant water jug at my side. It's amazing how bodies adjust to new things and give you subtle hints now and then to show you that it's changing in a good direction. :)

  • I definitely agree with ctappin with the water. I'm so good during the week drinking water since I keep a big bottle on my desk as well. On the weekends though, I definitely feel the difference. I need to start carrying my bottle around with me as a reminder!
  • yep, i call it a food hangover. i can't even take a bite of anything fried or anything doughy and sweet without feeling like crap in an hour. it's kind of a good sign, because it means you're "clean" of all that if it's affecting you (does that make sense? lol) but at the same time it really sucks!
