Getting in Shape

The power of fruits and veggies..

I've been off track a lot lately, but this week I finally got back at it. Even when I was doing really well before though, I wasn't eating many fruits and veggies, although I was having a V8 every day at work, since our drinks at work are free.

This week, I'm still eating the same number of calories, getting the same amount of exercise as before, but I switched things around so I'm eating as little sodium as possible (no V8, canned soups, or frozen dinners) and eating at least 5 servings of fruit and veggies each day. Still net 1200 calories per day, as recommended on sparkpeople. The result - 4 lbs since Monday!

I'm now down 25lbs from my highest weight and 19lbs from when I really started in January. AND I'm going dress shopping today coincidentally. Woohoo!

On a related side note - is the proper plural form of fruit "fruit", or "fruits"?

  • Wow! Good job!

think I need to cut back a little on my frozen lunches. I just get so tired of sandiwches, and it's easier to just grab a lunch out of the freezer than it is to make a lunch.

  • great job! i honestly can't live without fruits or veggies - and they're a pretty great source of water for your diet too.

lol and btw - if you're talking about different type of fruits, it's "fruits," but if you're talking about a plural form of the same fruit (like a bunch of strawberries), it's "fruit." :]
