Getting in Shape

Weight Watchers

I thought about trying this out for a while. How does it work? I know they have a program online, but I have absolutely no idea what exactly it does. Do they just give you a meal plan?

Thanks in advance! I'm clueless ;)

Re: Weight Watchers

  • I Love WW the plan is amazing.  YOu can go online or you can go to a center.  I think an Online Membership is aorun $30, you can go to a center for $40 a month.  I would definatly suggest the center you have a great support system at a center.

You will have a certain number of points for each day, and some extra weekly points. YOu can earn points by exercising.  Each food has a points value, some actualy have no value like fresh fruit and veggies. When you eat some food you deduct the points.

I would absolutely suggest doing the plan, it really helps teach you how to eat not how to loose weight.  Of course you loose weight in the process.

  • Ditto on the previous explanation. We usually have a  WW accoutability thread so you can always look over that to see examples of how we calculate points. I started off with the Monthly Pass - meaning you actually go to the center to weigh in. I switched to just the eTools (online membership) and I only pay about $13 a month for that. I'm actually thinking about going back to the monthly pass because I'm having trouble staying accountable when I have to weight myself in. Good luck!

  • Okay! Maybe I'll give it a shot then! Thank you!

I always thought that etools was something like $13 but then they were saying at my last meeting is was like $30!  I thought that $30 sounded crazy.  They must have been mistaken or I miss understood them because $13 sounds way more reasonable than $30.

  • When I switched from monthly pass to etools, it was $29.95 for three months, and then $17.95 every month thereafter. HTH
  • I agree, the meetings DEFINITELY help! :) Especially if you can find a meeting leader that you really click with...

  • I would love to try to do this.

  • I just started WW last week and I am already in love it it! It makes everything so easy. I am only doing the online option and so far I really like it. You just have to be really diligent about keeping track. They also have a great app for the iphone, which makes tracking on the go super easy! Have haven't really tried any of the recipes yet, but a lot of what they offer sounds good!
