Getting in Shape

I did it!

I ran 3.1 miles today! 40 minutes 8 secs. I don't think it's that bad. I tried to run yesterday after working a long day, and my legs just weren't having it. So, I went for it today. I had to keep telling myself in my head, "Just kick some butt! You're gonna kick some butt!"

  • That's great, congratulations! That time is great! I think my first time was over 43 minutes, and my first 5K race was 39:42.. You would probably run faster in a race when the adenaline kicks in, so you would be well under the 40 minute mark, which is great for a beginner!

    That's awesome!  I had hoped to break 30 mins in a 5k this year, but well, I'm hardly running, so it definitley didn't happen last week, not even close!

    Just keep going and the speed will come with time!

    I hope so!! My cousin is running with me on the 26th. She said she's up to 2.25 but feels confident. We'll see. I do feel better though every time I'm running. My body is taking on a different shape too.
