My live-in boyfriend and I are both trying to eat healthier and feel better about ourselvs. I've lost just under 20 pounds in 3 months (yay!), while he has only lost only a couple. He attributed his weight-loss struggles to the fact that he also cut down on cigarettes (I won't let him smoke in our house, it's unplesant and I have athsma).
Now he's decided he would rather be a thin smoker than a heavier non-smoker. I'm absolutely devistated, he was so gung ho about quitting; he was down from a pack a day to 5-6 cigarettes a day and now the number is rapidly creeping back up now that he "isn't going to worry about it." Plus, ALL of his friends are smokers.
Is it unfair to ask him to quit (not tomorrow) before we get married? I know this sounds silly since we aren't technically engaged, but it comes up often, as we live together, share bills, rent, and a cat.
