How often should I switch it up?

How often do you need to switch your workout routines so that your body doesn't get used to it?

  • I go back and forth every two months between running and running + weight training.  Also, I give myself a break week in between.  But really, if an exercise becomes really routine and it seems like the easy choice, switch to something else that makes you sweat!  Last week I was avoiding weight training for 30 mins, I'd just go for a run instead because it seemed like less work...  That's when you know you've got to move on!  This week (with starting weight training again) my everything hurts!!  Haha, but at least I know it's kicking my but :)
  • when i dont feel like i get a good workout from it, i switch and do something else. or when i get bored.

    I agree with PP, when it seems like a lot less like work than when you started the routine, it's time to make a change.

  • When i stop sweating as much as usual, I  know I'm in trouble :P Every body is different, so it's totally based on YOU personally. It's a good time to get in tune with yourself and really listen to what your bod is telling you. :)

  • I would at least every other month. Depends if you are getting bored.
