We are using a couple of lady's who run their business out of their home, but they're so talented and have great prices. It's called The Cozy Cakery.

I believe for buttercream they charged us 2.75/serving and for fondant I believe it was either $3 or $3.25/serving. We are doing buttercream for the grooms cake, and fondant for the big cake.

I don't believe they charged us a delivery fee. But I can go back and look at my contract.

Their email address is cozycakery@yahoo.com. Her name is Macy Lambert. They also have a facebook page you can look at some of their work. Just look up Cozy Cakery.

We are using Candy Haven in Denton.  I honestly don't know the price per slice because our cakes were included in our venue price.

We used Panini Bakery which worked out to be about $3.00 per serving for our buttercream cake, delivery was $75.  This does not include the cost of the fresh flowers that my florist put on the cake.

llc - we were going to do a cake tasting at candy haven but seeing 4.5 a slice worries me.  Was your bridal cake very elaborate?  I want a very simple bridal cake but I want a 3d grooms cake so I know that wont be free.

I really want to come in under 600 for 100 guests for both cakes. :(

Bobbie you might try the Cake Guys' Sweet Inspiration package.

  • edited December 2011
I dont think with the sweet inspiration package I would be able to have the grooms cake designed the way I want though would I?  I thought that was where they had preset cakes and you could customize colors and whatnot.

You will definitely come in less then that for a simple cake.  Our total for 155 servings (brides and grooms) was $695, but that's because we had a lot of extras.  Our extras came in the form of $20 worth of double dipped strawberries, $140 worth of extras for Chris' gaming cake (see bio for pic) and another extra $25 for the fondant plaques for the cities on our travel themed cake (see bio for pic).

    Hope that helps!

bobbileighb - here's the pic for what Chris' cake will look like

Most of extra costs came in the addition of the 3 controllers on top of the Xbox 360.  Chris doesn't ask for much in the wedding planning, so I really wanted to go the extra mile for his cake (one thing he cared about).

ooo wow so your grooms cake is a 3d and that was free minus the extras!  the bridal cake I want is in my bio and the groom cake is at the link below (I cant do a PIP sorry and I dont have it in the bio because its a surprise.)  The grooms cake can be on the smaller side too.

Oh yeah Bobbie, sorry, I didn't realize you needed a custom cake.  That's cool though!

Ours served 100 between the two and it was under $600.  I don't really know if you would call my cake extravagant but our original grooms cake was.

$100 for a 2-tier wedding cake, with scroll work and ribbon

    Thanks Donna!

bobbileighb - I would definitely go to the tasting and show them what you are interested in doing and find out what the price would be.  I set the budget low, but had a feeling that it might go over since we wanted so many extras.  For the same cakes at two other bakeries they ran $771 and $918, so I was very happy with Candy Haven's price.

We are using Panini Bakery, too!  We were referred to them by a friend & they are amazing!  The slices averaged out to about $3/slice & the delivery for the main cake & the groom's cake was $50.  It's such an inviting, family bakery.
