24 day challenge opinions

My friend has been trying to get me to try advocare products and I told her I wanted to lose my last 10 pounds and she suggested the 24 day challenge OR a cleanse with catalyst and spark... anyone out there tried any of this and have REAL results?

Re: 24 day challenge opinions

  • A few weeks ago I did a 7 day juice cleanse and it was a lot of work.

The "meal" was a mixture of bentonite liquide, psylium fiber and warm water 4 times a day, it sort of was like drinking poridge.  And then fruit and veggie juices the rest of the time.
It was very rewarding, health-wise, because I felt like my body was getting a really great de-tox.  Weight-wise though, I think I only lost about 3-5lbs.  I mean, everyone is different, you could have fantastic results, very quickly.  But unfortunately, I think the best results come with hard work.  I don't think a 24hr challenge would give you the results you're looking for.

  • I just started my 24 day challenge (I'm on day 4)...I feel really good because I'm eating so healthy and my clothes are already starting to fit better.  I haven't weighed myself yet because I'm only weighing myself once a week, but I really like the products so far.  It's not a quick fix thing like most fad diets or products in a box, I still am going to the gym and you have to eat right or it won't work.  I have talked to at least 3 other girls in my Zumba class who have seen good results, but that's just my two cents for now! GL!!

  • It's not a very smart way to lose for long-term results.  The weight will most likely come back.  I'd recommend just the old-fashioned healthy eating and exercise instead.

Ditto this!  Your body doens't need a cleanse.

  • After looking at it briefly (and I emphasize briefly) it seems anyone would get results eating this way.

You're cutting out crap and dairy. I don't think you need to buy all those powders and supplements to see the results.

On the menu: lots of veggies, fruit, complex carbs, good fats and tons of water. Sounds a lot like just eating clean to me. (Although dairy is something I don't think I could ever give up!).

I would say try following the food menu alone before spending your money on the pills. I bet you'll see results.

Check out what it says to eat:

    Eat More:
1 Veggies: salads during the day and steamed at night will scrub your system
2 Fruit: fibrous and low glycemic choices (apples, grapefruit, berries)
    3 Healthy Fats: avocado, nuts/seeds, olives/olive oil
    4 Clean Proteins: feed muscle and reduce appetite (tuna and salmon will aid in cleansing;
eggs/chicken/beef would be secondary options; stay away from processed lunch meats)
5 Clean Complex Carbs: rice, hummus, oatmeal
    Avoid or Minimize:
6 Fried foods, refined sugars, corn or white starches, or bread
7 Wheat products: bread, crackers, etc.
8 Dairy: cheese, yogurt, milk, white sauces or dressing
    9 Alcohol: you’re on a cleanse…hold off for 10 days
1 0 Coffee or soda: drink water or SPARK

  • Actually, those eating recommendations are mostly for the cleanse only, and most people don't lose weight on the cleanse.  The cleanse is necessary ...much like removing lint from a dryer is necessary.  It will work with the lint in it, but it will not work near as efficiently.  The cleanse is like removing the lint so that your body will accept the vitamins better.

I used the products last year to help trim down for my brother's wedding and went from a size 10 to a size 6.  The way I explained it above is the way it was explained to me.  I just started another 24 Day Challenge yesterday because I have not been eating healthy *at all* for months and it definitely caught up with me.  (completely my fault)  I'm getting married in October and I'm excited knowing how well this has worked for me before.

As for worrying about whether or not the results will last, it does as long as you don't go back to fried food, enchiladas, cheeseburgers, beer, etc. like I did.  My mom has lost almost 40lbs and kept it off.  My sister-in-law kept off her weight until she got pregnant (of course) and now she is right back to using products and getting back down to her tiny size again.

I was a HUGE doubter/disbeliever, until I did a ton of research and spoke with my doctor about it.  I'm glad I did too.

Good luck to you ladies! =)
  • Cleanses aren't necessary.  Your body has something built in to remove the "lint".  It's called your liver.  If you have a liver, you're detoxifying your body every day.  That's why you poop.
