buffet style or plated meal?

I'm still undecided on whether to have a buffet style or plated meals @ my reception. I can find pros and cons for both. The cost are the same but there is an extra pasta dish (w/o meat) with the buffet style meal. In the beginning, i was leaning toward a plated meal because I didn't want my guests wait in long lines. Now, I fear plated meals will take longer to serve, which could cut into my timeline @ the reception. What are your thoughts? What serving style are your used @ your reception?
