best wedding planners/event production in DFW?

Hi ladies!

I live in DC but am strongly leaning towards getting married in Dallas. I went to undergrad at UTD so I'm familiar with the area somewhat, and 2 of my bridesmaids still live in Dallas, but I am still very nervous about planning from a distance. My FI and I both work very demanding jobs, so while we'll be able to make some short trips to Dallas, we won't have a ton of time to devote to  coordinating of vendors, etc.

I want to have a reception that's a little off the beaten path and am looking for the BEST wedding planner or event production company in DFW - people who have tons of experience with upscale events (I'm talking lighting design, etc) and can take my creative vision and roll with it to make it bigger and better. Maybe these should be two seperate vendors (a coordinator/planner and an events production company)?

Any and all suggestions are very much appreciated!

I wouldn't say it's NO issue, but we're working with around $50k (and that could loosen up if it had to). From my initial research that it seems that budget should pretty far in the DFW area (at least further than it would if we got married here on the east coast!).

I had a friend do my DOC but my photographer recommended As You Wish  (www.as<strong" rel="nofollow">www.as>>youwishevents.com/) , PeaPod Productions ( www.peapodproductions.com/), or Premier Special Events (http://www.premierspecialevents.com/Home.html)

From what I can tell on their websites, they produce amazing weddings.

Oh, I mean to add  that Todd Events is really good too and has all those production hook-ups you are probably looking for.

Wow, great suggestions! I'm so glad I asked here.

They all look like they do beautiful events. I'm leaning toward Premier...probably the newest and most untested of the bunch, but I already can tell by looking at the portfolio pictures that they match my style and would "get" my vision.

I'm going to give them a call tomorrow. Yay! Let the wedding planning commence.
