Paying for mock-ups?

When working with your florist, did they charge you for the mock-ups?  My florist is trying to charge me.  I think it could be because of the flowers I'm asking for, but I just wanted to make sure she wasn't trying to rip me off.I'm asking for two mock-ups.  One is a submerged floral piece.  I think because the flowers will be submerged, they can't be re-used for another arrangement afterwards.  The other is a short vase of hydrangeas.  I think hydrangeas need to be kept in water as much as possible, so perhaps she can't reuse those either.Any input would be appreciated.

I didn't have a floral mock up (mostly because I live out of state from where my wedding was). I put my faith in the florist and let her be the professional. That was probably one of the best decisions I made during the planning process.

Thanks, ladies.  I put a deposit down for the bouquets and bouts, but we haven't finalized the centerpiece selection.  I'm doing mockups because I just can't visualize what she's describing.  I'm mainly curious about the submerged piece.
