XP: Cake Flowers

OK I have looked at pics of the cakes with the real flowers in the middle of each layer (when using a the floating tiers) this is a look I would like to have on my cake but I am using artificial flowers and I can't figure out how to make this type of arrangement.any suggestions? -->

To get the look in the pic you posted, you'll need to use a small piece of styrofoam. (Not the crumbly, Oasis stuff that's meant to be wet... but, the more rigid plasticy styro...) You can get it at a craft store (or, even at the dollar store...) glue the styro onto a small, flat, plastic base (or, a small round piece of cake cardboard... like 50 cents at a cake store...) - then, arrange the flowers in there by sticking the stems into the styro. You can then just set the whole thing on the cake. If you want it to stay put, you can put a dab of frosting on the bottom.

Thanks I have see the half ball looking ones would they be best or would it be better to use a rectangular piece?

I honestly don't think it will matter too much... since the flowers are pretty close together, you won't really see it.If you use a rectangle, I'd cut a smallish rectangle in 1/2, so it's more like a square instead of a rectangle.  That will help you get the right shape.
