Black and red bouqet with all white wedding dress ok?

Our wedding colors are black and red, and I had originally just planned on having an all red bouquet. But after looking at some options, I fell in love with the idea of black and red rose bouquet. I'm worried this might look off with my dress, being it has no color, what do y'all think? Attached is a pic of my dress, and the bouquet I would be getting, only with red instead of the white. Thanks for your opinions

If you like it go for it. Personally it is not my style and I think in talking to the florist they could throw in a different color other than black that wouldn't throw off your color scheme or you could go with an accent color and they could incorporate that in your bouquet. I really like the idea of an all red bouquet, and then they could possibly put some colored/pearl pins in some white small flowers (don't know the name) to accent your bouquet that way if you opted not to go with the black roses. I guess I just associate black with funerals and sadness, but if you like it and it is you, go for it. It is your day afterall!

I'm afraid the dark colors may blend all in together. But you can ask for a demo from your florist. Those black roses are dyed though just so you know. If your florist dye them she would have to use white roses & black coloring. Not all roses may come out the same shade or they may show the white through. There are such things as black roses but they are the deepest/darkest red there is they aren't literally black.

Silk flowers, as in the photo?  I think it'd be great.  Yes, it'll be dark - but that will just add to the dramatic flair of choosing dark colours!  Plus, the stark whiteness of the gown will really make the bouquet pop - and vice versa.

I'm pretty sure I'd love it.  Of course, my wedding colours are black, white, red, and silver and my gown has black detailing and all black accessories. :)

I think it depends on the red,  Is it a bright red like the Freedom Rose or a darker red like the Black Baccara?  If you are using silk flowers of course the black won't be a problem, but if you are using dyed roses be sure your florist covers the cut edge of the stems, sometimes the dye can transfer and "bleed"

If you mean black flowers that are real, they are more a really dark red, not truly black.  I'm not a big fan of black flowers, especially dyed or silk ones.  But if you like them, that's what really counts.

A dark bouquet will look fine, even with an all white dress, especially if your BM dresses are also dark.

If you're not sure about using black flowers, but want some black accents in with your red, or red and white bouquets, you might try some black ribbon on the stem wrap, black jewels, feathers, pearls, beads, or some of those curled wooden stick designs (not sure what they are called).

Caveat:  I'm all about brightly colored bouquets.

I think, if you're going with deep red flowers, black wouldn't look that great.  As I try to visualize it, I just see the black pulling away from the beauty of the red.  I would keep the black in the decor and out of the bouquet.

    Best of luck!

I would like to see you use red roses and then add black accents such as feathers, beads or decorative wire.  Dyed roses are just icky and not very nice looking. the bokay in your picture is silk...but it reminds me of a soccer ball.
