"Fun" Wedding Ideas

Ok, so my fiance gave the stipulation that the wedding be "fun". And he doesn't mean like normal fun. His suggestion was sky diving as the ceremony, which i immediately shot down. I'm all for fun and adventure at the wedding, but not letting my fear of heights overcome me. Anyway, I am desperately in need of suggestions because we want to get married September or October 2012.

Thanks!!!

My H wanted to make sure our reception would be fun -- which to us meant lots of friends, lots of dancing, and lots of drinking. We chose a venue where we could BYOB so we could have a full, open bar, and we made sure to use some of our (limited) guest list for our friends, rather than extended relatives we don't know.

H also loves karaoke (we both do) so we went to our favorite karaoke bar as an after-party.

There are lots of ways to work in fun, but I guess it depends what your FI normally likes to do! If he really wants an adventure (and you're up for it) we were recently in Las Vegas and researching helicopter tours over the Grand Canyon. There were packages specifically for weddings.

Yeah not sure what "fun" means to you or your FI.  For my DH, it meant good food, a great DJ, and an open bar which is what we had.

I would have loved a small intimate DW and a nice dinner afterwards--but DH's parents really wanted to give their son the wedding of his dreams so that is what we did.  But destination weddings are popular.

I would have also loved getting married in Las Vegas.  But that is not DH's family's scene at all so I could have never talked DH into it.  But LV weddings look like the definition of fun to me.

Usually, music, good food and drink are all that's required to have a great time at a wedding.  Don't stress yourself out trying to think up new crazy ideas--most guests just want to see you get married and then eat and drink afterwards.  After parties are great if you want to keep the party going.

We are probably going to do casino tables. Our friends love gambling, and we thought it would be a fun way to get everyone mingling, and give them something to do. Neither of us are big dancers, but we want to have an all night party. :) We actually found some vendors where we could have craps, roulette, and poker for 100 people for right at 1,000.

FI and I wanted our wedding to be "fun" as well, and FI is really hooked on this whole ninja game thing, so we're going to do it toward the end of the night after all the formalities are out of the way and people have had time to get their dance on!  :)  We figure that by that time, all the people who are left will be the ones who are there to have fun and it won't seem so cheesy.

Here's a youtube video of the "World's Largest Game of Ninja" in case you have no idea what I'm talking about:
