Filler flowers for Orchid Centerpiece..

Hey all. I'm doing tall red-mokara orchid centerpieces. I'm buying them bulk from Fifty Flowers. Due to the cost of the orchids, I'd like to use a filler flower to make sure the centerpieces look full without spending a fortune! I'd like them to be a "hot" color-- preferably bright red, pink or orange and have a lot of blooms for volume. I've been looking at gladiolus, stock, limonium.... any other suggestions? i could use all the help!

I think stock would be a great choice because it comes in some great colors.  Also, did you think about adding blue delphinium?  This would be a great contrast to the red orchids and really make the orchids pop (they also have a lot of blooms on the stem).  Another flower that doesn't have a lot of blooms on the stem but are large and take up space would be tiger lilies...they are a really pretty orange lily and would go well with the orchids.  You can also add some greenery to fill in the arrangement such as salal, bear grass, myrtle, or seeded eucalyptus.

Hi, I think the stock would be lovely. To save on cost, why not purchase them in white and use designer floral spray paint in various colors to get the "punch" of color you are after. Best of luck!

For stock, it doesn't matter what color you get, each stem will be priced the same.  They are usually packaged in bunches of 10 stems and the color has no impact on price.
