Red BM's... need help with my red bouquet

We are using the DB apple red for my sash and the bm dresses. I have a long simple white dress, having a traditional morning ceremony. We went to the florist and discussed a red bouquet for me. He suggested a combo of red roses, red lilies and red gerbera daisies. I said that was ok. The girls will have white flowers with a few red roses.
Now I have been thinking about it and trying for hours to google red bouqets. I come up with almost nothing with that combo or a red combo. I have found a couple and really didn't like it. The combo looks messy and without seeing it in person, I don't think I want it. All the pics I found were for solid red rose bouquets or solid tulips (wrong red color) or solid daisys (maybe too informal for me).  I don't LOVE roses and was trying to stay away from that round, red rose look. Maybe a couple red lilies? Will that look funny? The florist said it may not match the red enough.
What flowers did you use? Can I see a pic?

Honestly, I'd pick a bouquet in an accent colors like yellows and oranges.  I'm not a big fan of roses either and if the red can't be matched closely enough, it may not look right.  I considered doing my bouquet in white with red accents until I realized it would look like the bouquet was bleeding form gunshot wounds.

Are the BM dresses completely apple red?  If you have red flowers too, that may be a bit too much red, IMO.  I would go all white flowers for the girls, and a mixed color bouquet for you.  If you do not really like roses, see what kind of mixed bouquet your florist can do for you.

If you want to add some red to the bouquets, may I suggest some red lace or ribbon, which will match the fabric colors easier than trying to match flower colors.  I have been hearing something too about flowers being spray painted by some florists in emergencies, or to "completely match" the BP colors - YIKES!

your red color choice is the limiting factor here. There are actually very few flowers that are a natural red. Trust your florist. This is what they do for a living and they have seen losts of red flower bokays. It is just as important to tell your florist what you don't like as what you do like.

personally I like a bokay with more color.Different shades of reds and oranges with a touch of kiwi green......stunning!! JMO

i agree that you could choose one red flower (or flowers) you love and mix it with other colors and types of flowers.  yellow, white, orange, lime green would all look beautiful.

another option, if you do not like roses, is to choose one one flower you do love that comes in red and other colors and do a bouquet of just that flower.

if you do not like your florist, do you have time to meet with others?
