Say Anything Wednesday!

Let's hear it Ladies.

So NWR: Yesterday I decided to ride off of a curb on my bike.  Yeah, so I have like shock things on my bike (yes, shock things), so the curb was quite high and I bounced a bit too much.  Well, my feet came off the pedals and BAM - the pedal banged into my shin.  Smooth - I know.  I have a huge bump on my shin - so no skirts at work this week.

The wedding is bringing out all my mom's "mommy issues" with her mother (grandma controlled my mom's wedding and did some things that really hurt her)

I am skipping my grandparent's anniversary dinner the Sunday after our wedding (we leave for Hawaii the next day) so Jay and I can have some alone time... :)

I'm not really stressed at all!

My venue wedding coordinator hasn't responded to an email I sent on May 10th.  I'm supposed to meet with him next week... it would be great if he'd confirm that.  I'm trying so hard to be easy to deal with.. I wish he would too!

I just got all my invitation wording done and sent to my Popa for printing and then a coworker asked if I had registered yet...I said "no, we are doing that this weekend" and she said "well don't you put that on the invite?"

Are you supposed to put it on there???  I had no idea.
  • edited December 2011
No.. don't put it on the invitation.

I'm including an insert card with our website address for guest information (we have a lot of OOT guests) and the website has the registry info on it.  That is a close as I think you can get to "including" your registry in your invite without being tacky.

    I think... anyway.  :)

I have heard that you're not suppose to put anything about gifts on your invite, including where you're registered. The mom's are suppose to spread the word around.

We are doing the same thing as Kelly. Including an insert card with our wedding website on it, with directions, pictures, yadda yadda. And then on our website there is a link to our registry but we won't directly put our registry on anything...they can "find" it. Or if they ask then you can send them the info :) Dont freak...your doing the right thing!

I hate rental car smell.  I've been driving one since yesterday afternoon and I can smell it everywhere I go now, and now I'm paranoid I smell funny.

One of the directors here keeps scheduling lunch meetings this week.  Hello, it is my birthday week and I have many lunches out planned.  I've now had to cancel two.  RUDE!

Ditto--though people have still been asking where it is...

I included a reception card that gave the reception details and at the bottom said:

For out-of-town-guest info, directions, and registries, please visit our wedding website at: blah blah blah

I put our website on our STDs and we still got like 5 phone calls from ppl asking us where we blocked rooms.  (5 ppl who do use the internet).

After listening to "Golddigger" a little while ago, I realized that the football player Kanye talks about really should have asked for a DNA test and not a pre-nup.  Just something random.

Random thing #2:  please don't talk on your phone in a bathroom.  It's weird and I think less of people.  Yes, I would judge you if you were talking on the phone in the bathroom.

I leave for the airport in a few hours and I really wish I wasn't going.  I want to be here for when my mom can finally open her eyes for more than a minute.

NWR:  We go to the bone marrow doctor with my step dad tomorrow to see if he is going to need a transplant.  We don't know many details about how this works so all of us are going so we can all hear it first hand and ask questions.  Sure the dr will love us!

WR:  FI and I seriously discussed talking to the chapel today and seeing how much money we can get back so we can go elope.  My family is making this whole planning thing no fun!!!  We aren't going to go elope but we were considering it last night!

Steph - I only drive rental cars, I don't even own a car.  I totally understand the smell your referring to.

We got a wedding invite this week with the registry info printed on the reception information card.  I cringed when I saw it.   I feel so wedding educated now!

They are actually appreciative.  It means the families care about each other.  A doctor told us this once because we did the same thing.  They said most people don't have family and come by themselves and have to deal with everything alone.  I hope it goes well!

I never thought I would say I 'hated' anyone or anything, but FMIL is pushing me dangerously close to this statement.  I cannot believe she has the nerve to tell us we don't have her blessing to get married unless I get plastic surgery!  Are you kididng me?!?!!

seujoanne- Happy  Birthday! It's my birthday week too!! I was NOT happy that I had to go to a (boring) training on my birthday... but I got over it because I celebrated all weekend, and will be celebrating next weekend too :) I'm definitely in birthday princess mode :)

I'm at a standstill in thought, conversation, etc...on the wedding.  Other than dress browsing, everything else is at a standstill.  FI just blurted last night that he doesn't see any reason for more than $3,000 to be spent---by anyone...he described his buddy's wedding from a few years ago (it was the guy's second, and he has 4 daughters with 3 women) as simple, at his dad's with family and close friends...yada yada yada.
So, I've decided to not bring it up anymore until he gets with it.  I'm not going to be able to handle being met with opposition as I go on with the planning.  I'm going to need to know what HE is wanting, or willing, to have before moving forward.
    *sigh*
    Good thing it's a year + away.

AND.  I want to go tanning!  I want some me time.  Haven't laid in the tanning bed but two times THIS YEAR...and I'm wanting to just take a little more time and attention for me.  Got my nails done, as I do every 2-3 weeks...but didn't have time for the pedi...I'm doing it this weekend.

Julie-- I break down songs lyrics too. Whenever I question the storyline of a song, my husband has no clue what I'm talking about. He says he never listens to the lyrics, he just likes the beats.

danielle - i had a similar situation with my FI when we first started planning - even though i'm paying for the wedding.

i showed him a budget with everything outlined and basically said, "what would you cut and if you can get any of these items cheaper, then show me"....he barked at a few items, such as, "do we really need to spend x amount on a photograher?"...but in the end, he realized he was being unreasonable and doesn't say anything!
oh, and he keep mentioning his brother wedding and their cost - and i had to point out they had a cake reception, etc.

MissAngel - i'm sorry, but i'm glad i'm not the only one who is having FMIL problems!!!

danac2010  - i can so relate!!! saturday i said i was NOT getting married here and we could get married in jamica on our honeymoon!

Yeah... that was her statement last week when FI told her that she needs to stop this madness and that neither he nor I wanted me to do any surgeries.  We told her she didn't need to come to the wedding and then this week... she asked if I'd changed my mind about the whole thing... WTH?  Get off of it lady!  I'm not doing what you are telling me to do!
