Sweetgrass Boquets and Boutaineers

Hi everyone. We are getting married in Charleston, SC in Feb. 2012. The venue we are using (I'On Creek Club) is very southern, and we are also doing southern food at the reception (fried chicken, bbq pork, crab cakes, shrimp cocktail, etc.). Our budget isn't tiny, but it's not very large either (~$15,000 INCLUDING the rehersal dinner). Our venue was quite expensive, etc. I was thinking for boquets (I have 5 BMs) giving them sweetgrass basket boquets, and for the GM doing sweetgrass boutaineers. It saves a lot of money, and I was going to add a little color to the boquets, maybe doing pinecones, branches, maybe a few flowers... we still have time for that! Just wondering if you ladies thought this would be cute! I've posted a picture so you guys have an idea of what I'm thinking.  Somehow, I would like to do a combination of the 3 below... not as "weedy" and definitly not red roses (our colors are deep purple and ivory)

This is a really cute idea! I am planning on doing this as well for the guys. The BM's will still carry bouquets but I am planning on wrapping the bouquets in a "sweetgrass" made wrap. There is a lady down at the markets in Charleston who does a really good job with bouquets. I want to say they were about $30-50 for a bouquet depending on size. GL

I like it. Maybe also check out babies breath. That's SUPER cheap, and looks purty as well.
